The first time I heard about Cowling & Wilcox was when I tried to buy some paints from my local Art supplier and nearly had a cardiac arrest when the realization that the paints would cost me over £100. After being recommended to the website, I was so excited that I could buy large quantities of supplies (which I go through at a very inhumane speed) for a price that wasn’t going to cost me my hummus and pitta bread allowance.
The products I first received were wonderful and any communication I had with the lovely staff was brilliant. One of the many things that I really like about Cowling & Wilcox is the fact that they value and really support artists in the best way they can.
I really can’t thank you enough for the £300 Daler-Rowney Prize as it really is a Godsend for me as I am still en route to becoming a fledgling Art student! A brilliant company, they have been starred on my Google Chrome favorites and a small shrine is in the process of being built.

Thankyou so much for this, I never win anything! I work as a film Art Director but I buy supplies from you for my wife who paints. I have attached some images of her work rather than examples of my own work (which is all computer generated).

I was very excited to win the fabulous prize of £300 of Daler Rowney
products. I have been a customer of Cowling and Wilcox for, it must be, 15 years now.
At first when I worked in central London, I bought from the shop but
now I am outside London and running my own business it is very convenient
to order using their website, my sons also love art and are great at finding
the best deal online I find they are often spending their pocket money with
Cowling and Wilcox. I have always received a fantastic level of customer service
even when I required a very last minute delivery for my son's Birthday.

Nula Shearing runs noolibird, where she designs and makes an ever expanding range of
stamps for card making or decorating just about anything.

Artist Sammie Edgar at first found solace in her unique ‘word art’ – then she found her calling.

She uses a mixture of materials to create the bespoke work, including 3D paint, acrylics and coloured marker pens. She then takes her customers’ words and paints them in a graffiti-style jumble to form a picture on all manner of items.
Prices start from just a few pounds for personalised greetings cards, to £10 for glass, heart-shaped fridge magnets, £15 for mini-canvasses and £20 for mirrors. Larger canvasses range from as little as £35 to hundreds of pounds, depending on the commission.
Her work comes in all kind of guises, including words painted into the shape of a person’s initials, with the words all reflecting that person’s personality traits, emotions or memories. She also creates silhouettes of children, littered with words describing them – ideal for birthday presents or Christening gifts.
“There’s a variety of reasons why people want me to commit their words to art, it may to be record a special moment like a marriage, a birth, or an anniversary, an act of remembrance or even an affirmation of how they feel or want to feel.”
