Formulated to enhance the creations of artists working with oil and acrylic colour, Daler-Rowney Simply Actylic Gesso is an excellent base coat primer, suitable for preparing all semi-absorbent surfaces prior to the application of paint. Use this gesso to create a white matt surface with a slight tooth which can be smoothed by sanding.

Seems to work well. My first time using gesso - the acrylics have held to the surface and not been absorbed into it, so happy with the product.
