Who are Faber-Castell?
First established in 1761, when Kaspar Faber opened a small workshop in the German village of Stein, Faber-Castell continues to manufacture in Germany, as well as 8 other countries.
Fourth generation Baron Lothar von Faber took over the family business in 1839, launching the world’s first branded pencil, “A. W. Faber”. It was the marriage of Lothar’s granddaughter, Ottilie, to Count Alexander zu Castell-Rüdenhausen, which saw the creation of the Faber-Castell name and brand.
Today, Faber-Castell continues to produce high quality pencils, including a range developed specifically for the cosmetics market, under the leadership of eighth generation Count Anton-Wolfgang von Faber-Castell.
