More Information
Part of the Galeria range & developed for stable surface preparation, this bold, opaque white primer is formulated using a combination of high-quality acrylic resin with concentrated pigments.
With no dilution required, it can be used directly from the pot & offers excellent "tooth" for adhesion of acrylic colour.
If applying oil colour, we recommend a minimum of two coats in order to reduce absorbency & boost integrity of the paint film.

From local suppliers (not art shops - there are none local to me) the only gesso I have been able to obtain has proven thin and translucent: a 4B pencil line erased as much as possible from a textured canvas board was still visible after 4 coats. 'Galeria' is a dense, easily applied primer from a known manufacturer. Being able to order it from cowlingandwilcox has meant I have access to a competitively priced supply (without having to breach COVID restrictions) of a gesso which does what I want, in 2 coats!
