Did you come and visit us at the Affordable Art Fair earlier this month? Take a look through our gallery of highlights to see what we got up to.
This year’s AAF saw 110 local and international galleries descend on Battersea Park, showcasing an array of original artwork by over 1,100 artists. We hosted some free workshops at the AAF every day from Thursday to Sunday. We were located in the Educational Space with a different activity prepared for each day. Here’s what we got up to:
Thursday 10th March, 12pm – ‘Everything But The Kitchen Sink’
This was a still life session with a difference – no fruit bowls or vases of flowers. Just an interesting array of everyday utensils and items and a whole range of exciting art materials from Cowling & Wilcox. Whether it’s your first try or you are an accomplished artist – this one was for everyone!
This workshop was all about creating tone and shadows, which is why we added a contemporary twist on our still life objects and painting everything white!
Friday 11th March, 12pm – ‘Strange Fruit’
We invited you to take part in another still life session with a difference: a contemporary take on the classic still life with everything you need to get started. It was great for beginners and for brightening their artworks!
On Friday we saw a lot of pop art and colour in this workshop, some vibrant works were created with our range of coloured pastels to achieve the contemporary twist to all the paint being painted in different colours.
Saturday 12th & Sunday 13th March, 2pm – Zentanglemania
The children helped us make a GIANT Zentangle drawing. The tables were covered in paper – full of circles filled with shapes, patterns and colour. Silly, creative, family fun.
We hope you were lucky enough to receive one of our goody bags. Make sure you use your 10% Discount voucher in store soon, or visit us online! Keep an eye on our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter page for more…
