This is due to not only their water-based pigment ink, but also the unique ink flow technology found in their pens.
Developed in 1984 by Sakura themselves, the ink flow system ensures that ink is always flowing to the nib at any given time.
This, in tandem with the rollerball nib itself, creates a smooth consistency, allowing for bolder, more defined linework with no need for additional pressure.
