Faber-Castell was first established in 1761 when Kaspar Faber opened a small workshop crafting pencils in the German village of Stein. By 1839 the company had launched the world’s first branded pencil, the ‘A. W. Faber’, and has continued to expand through eight generations of the Faber-Castell family.
Today, Faber-Castell remains as one of the world's largest and oldest manufacturers of pens and pencils, as well as a whole host of other luxury art supplies and goods. Their name is synonymous with excellent quality and Faber-Castell are highly regarded for their established brands, including PITT Artist pens and Albrecht Dürer pencils, used by artists worldwide.
