This Loxley Canvas board is an inexpensive alternative to stretched canvas. This high quality range of painting boards is made from cotton by Loxley, which is laminated over strong, stable pulpboard. This Loxley canvas is folded around the back of the board for a professional finish. Back lining balances the board to keep it flat and prevent warping. Available in various sizes.

What Is Canvas?

Traditionally manufactured from hemp, for its tough fibres, Canvas is now primarily produced from either linen or cotton. Linen Canvas is a premium alternative to Cotton Canvas, and has finer strands, producing a highly intricate weave, with a regular pattern. Cotton Duck Canvas is most commonly used for painting with oil colour. Loxley canvas is known for being high quality, versatile and suitable for working with a number of mediums. 

What Is Canvas Board?

Made by stretching, and then affixing, cotton or linen canvas over a rigid base of card or wood, Loxley Canvas Board offers a firm support for artistic creations.

Good price, but thinner board than the windsor and newton of the same size, which might be ok for smaller format, but not sure how stable it will remain for the 40cm x 50cm.
