Video: Fabriano Mould Made Paper Production

Having the correct surface is essential in determining the finish of a piece of work. Fabriano has a worldwide reputation for the finest artists’ paper, established by its history in the paper industry dating back to the 13th century. Lignin and acid free, Fabriano Accademia Artist Paper has been internally and externally sized, to ensure resistance to repeated erasing.

What is Cartridge Paper?

An uncoated type of drawing or printing paper, Cartridge Paper is made from bleached sulphate wood pulp, with an addition of esparto grass. Its name derives from the paper’s original use in making paper cartridges for firearms.

Why choose Fabriano Accademia Artist Paper?

Made from high quality lignin free and acid free cellulose, Fabriano Accademia drawing paper is produced using 100% Elemental Chlorine Free (ECF) pulp. Recommended for artists working with PencilCharcoalPastel  and Ink, this high quality 200gsm cartridge paper may also be used as a support for Gouache.

Does Fabriano Accademia Artist Paper come in different weights and sizes?

Available in sizes A3 and A4, Fabriano Accademia Artist Paper is available in 120gsm, 160gsm and 200gsm weights, in the following pack sizes: A3 120gsm (100 sheets), A3 160gsm (75 sheets), A3 200gsm (50 sheets), A4 120gsm (200 sheets), A4 160gsm (150 sheets) and A4 200gsm (100 sheets).

Who are Fabriano?

Named after the small town in Italy where it originated, Fabriano has been associated with quality paper production since the second half of the 13th century, but it was only in 1782, when entrepreneur Pietro Miliani founded Cartiere Miliani that the company established its leadership within the paper industry. The business expanded and assumed a number of guises, before adopting the title “Cartiere Miliani Fabriano” in 1947.

Today, Fabriano is part of the Fedrigoni Group of Verona, having joined on 21st March 2002.

This is a good, not too heavy, drawing paper. It is short grained which I like to use for making A5 sketch books.

Have used Fabriano 200grm version and bought to compare. It's a nice paper but I prefer the other weight for any waterbased medium. However if you stretch it, it's fine. Love these papers.

I am gradually coming around to how amazing the Fabriano brand papers are. This is my 2nd purchase. Great value at 200 sheets, and the paper thickness is incredible for it being lighter weight. .
