Video: Winsor & Newton Art Masking Fluid
Winsor & Newton Water Colour Mediums is a collection of mediums designed to enhance the creations of artists working with water colour, such as Winsor & Newton’s Cotman and Artist Watercolour ranges. Composed of rubber latex and pigment, Winsor & Newton Art Masking Fluid is ideal for protecting areas of work, when applying broad washes of Watercolour.
What is a Medium?
Any liquid which changes the consistency of the paint it is mixed with may be classed as a medium. Artistic style and technique influence the choice of medium used, so Winsor & Newton provide a range of Water Colour Mediums to assist the artist working with Water Colour.
Why use a Medium?
Choosing complementary mediums for water colours is as unique as choosing a colour palette. By changing the properties of paint, a medium extends the possibilities of how an artist works with the colour, and affords a plethora of exciting techniques and effects.
Winsor & Newton Mediums Finder provides an easy, interactive method of choosing the correct medium, for the artist to achieve the desired effect.
Why choose Winsor & Newton Art Masking Fluid?
A liquid with added pigmentation, Winsor & Newton Art Masking Fluid is available in 75ml and 250ml sizes. Please note that this medium should not be used on damp paper, or left on the paper for long periods of time. Art Masking Fluid can be removed from brushes if they are washed immediately after use.
This Winsor & Newton guide provides information on Using The Different Art Masking Fluids, and this video shows How To Use Art Masking Fluid.
