The Conté Sanguine XVIII Pencil is a deep rust colour. It has similar properties to other 'Sanguine' pencils in that with a sharpened lead the drawing is accurate and the colour is transparent but will deepen as pressure is applied with a worn lead.
With a sharpened lead the drawing is accurate, the colour is transparent and if the work is lightly drawn, the pencil lets the texture of the paper appear. With a half-worn lead, the opacity increases with the pressure exerted on the pencil. The length of the pencil is 176.5mm, the diameter of the pencil is 8.5mm and the diameter of the lead is 5mm.
