Available in several options, the ABIG Etching Needle range makes it simple for beginners, students, hobbyists or professional to produce incredibly detailed prints.
Sharpened on both sides, the sword-shaped needle is made using hardened steel & measures between 1-3mm in width, ideal for etching (or scratching) a variety of patterns, shapes or designs into metal, plastic & more.
The lightweight, durable natural beechwood handle measures 150mm & features an ergonomic design that provides comfort whilst in use.
How Do I Produce an Etched Print?
- Scratch an image or design into the surface of a plate
- Apply colour by rolling ink onto the etched surface
- Wipe the surface, ensuring only the ink is collected in the scratched areas
- Carefully place your paper directly on top of the inked sheet
- Apply pressure (preferably using a press) & lift the paper
- Voila, an etched print!
