Water colourists know that theirs is an art that requires materials of exceptional quality and strength. Winsor & Newton's luxury 100% cotton water colour paper is crafted in France in the tradition of fine art papermaking. Made on a traditional cylinder mould, it offers the highest quality surface for smooth, even washes, preserving lustre and transparency of colour.
The cotton fibres are internally and externally sized for optimal absorbency and extreme strength. This means that the paper will not warp even when saturated with heavy water, or when multiple layers or paint are applied, making it ideal for water colour, gouache, ink and acrylic. It will also withstand even the roughest of editing techniques many times over.
Acid free and free of optical brighteners, Winsor & Newton's paper offers a bright natural whiteness and is velvety smooth to the touch. Cotton is also naturally archival so it will not yellow or degrade over time.
