The HORADAM Naturals range from Schmincke is a high-quality, environmentally friendly & 100% vegan selection of watercolours.

Offering a unique combination of watercolour & gouache properties, their palette of 16 individual matt & mostly semi/transparent colours are mixable with all other watercolour & gouache ranges for endless creative opportunities.

The unique formulation of these paints sets them apart from their pure watercolour or gouache counterparts, requiring some familiarisation in the characteristics of each pigment.

Due to their natural origins, each colour has a delicate fragrance & could possibly have slight shade variations within different batches.
This is not a quality defect, but properties brought about through the use of naturally occurring pigments.

100% vegan & naturally formulated

By exclusively using carefully selected natural earth & plant-based pigments such as the juice of the Indigofera plant or resin of the Dragon's Blood tree, each colour is unique, accurate & corresponds to these natural characteristics.

For instance, natural pigments are occasionally coarser in texture which (unlike gouache) results in a rougher, slightly granular surface effect.  Also, the colours do not flow as easily as typical watercolours, offering control more akin to a traditional gouache.  

Some colours, such as Curcuma and Stil de Grain, have similar characteristics to watercolours & high glazing properties, offering a wide range of colours.
While Curcuma enables yellow to orange colour strokes, Stil de Grain has a yellow-green to greenish-brown colour.
